February Stamp Club & New Round Starting!

February Stamp Club Projects.  We learned the Acrylic Distress technique and explored the versatility of the Labels Framelits Dies, love it!!!!

Another great weekend with my Stamp Club ladies!  I'm so lucky to have such a fabulous group to create and socialize with!  We have SO much fun!

Our current round of Calgary Stamp Club is coming to a close as we have only one more meeting in March and then a new group will be forming in April.  We learn a new technique each time we meet, and always have tons of fun!  If you'd like some more information about joining the next round, please contact me asap so I can hold you a spot.  I look forward to hearing from you!

A Simple Treat

So I'm on a bit of a run with the Labels Framelits this week.  I used them with my Stamp Club ladies this month (I'll share the Stamp Club projects tomorrow), so I made some samples to show them some alternate projects.

This little cutie is such a quick and easy little treat bag!  It literally took me under 2 minutes to make it!  I love the cello bags on page 181 of the catalogue, and fancy that, there's a Labels Framelit Die to fit both the small and medium bags!  Treat bags for the kiddos (or the big kids) has never been easier!

Stamps: Something Sweet
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point
Paper: Whisper White, Real Red
Punches: Modern Label, Decorative Label
Big Shot: Labels Framelits Dies
Other: 3" x 5" Cello Bags, Gumballs
All supplies available from Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I appreciate your support!

Framelits, Apothecary Art, and some Bling!

Happy Monday to you!  Did you have a good weekend?  I sure did!!!  The Be A Big Shot, Round 2 Class was on Saturday night, so I had a house full of ladies over creating and having fun!  I enjoyed it as always!  And then Sunday was our Stamp Club meeting.  Another fun day of creating!  I'm really spoiled that this is my job.  AND I get to do it all again tonight with another group of Stamp Club ladies!!!  Seriously, I'm on cloud nine!

Today's card is one that will appeal to you quick crafters out there!  The Apothecary Art stamp set is AMAZING, but some people shy away from it because they think they have to colour in all those little flowers.  Well, if you're short on time, just do what I did!  Punch out a few blossoms with your Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower punch, add some jewels, and voila!  No colouring required!
A stunning card with not a whole lot of effort.  Of course it helps that those Labels Framelits Dies fit the stamp set images perfectly, so no fussy cutting required either!  A crowd pleaser I'd say!

Stamps: Apothecary Art
Ink: Soft Suede, Calypso Coral
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Attic Boutique DSP
Punches:  Itty Bitty Punch Pack, 1" Square
Big Shot: Labels Framelits
Embellishments: Basic Jewels, Very Vanilla 5/8" Satin Ribbon, Everyday Enchantment Brads
All supplies available from Stampin' Up!

Have a fabulous Monday friends!

Baby Shower Inspiration

There are so many wonderful aspects to my job as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, but being part of the milestones in people's lives has to be right up near the top.  Last week a dear friend of mine came over so we could do some creative planning for her baby shower.  And let me tell you, this baby is going to get a royal welcome!  She's planning on adorable onsie invitations and thank you cards, as well a little shopping bag favour with goodies inside.  She's a beginner crafter, so we chose simple and elegant designs that are cute and adorable with not a lot of technical steps.  She's going to do a fabulous job!  This is one girl who truly knows how to put on an event, so I can't wait to go!

Thanks for letting me share.

I've been eying up the card on page 121 of the catalogue so tonight I sat down to make it.  I changed it up a bit with my layout, but it's pretty much the same as it is in the catalogue.  I love that this book is so full of ideas!
Oh, and double score on FREE goodies!  The Designer Frames Embossing Folders are also an available selection in the Sale-a-bration promotion!  So awesome!

Ribbon Organizer - Check!

Finally!  A ribbon storage solution I'm happy with!  I've tried many, let me tell you.  Those ribbon boxes where you pull out the ends, nightmare.  The paper towel dispenser like dowel thing, horrid.  A drawer to throw everything into never to be seen again, not exactly a storage solution, more like a storage abyss.  And now, the fabulous luxury of this PERFECT shelf!
This is actually a picture shelf from Ikea that is super skinny and long.  I guess you are supposed to mount it on the wall and then place your framed art on the shelf.  I think they'd make more money marketing this as a ribbon shelf quite honestly.  I don't really get the intended concept for it.  Nevertheless, it's the perfect solution to all my ribbon hoarding nightmares.  That really is a lot of ribbon isn't it?  I should really get creating...

Have a fabulous day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Pennant Banner Thanks

Happy Tuesday!  I hope in your part of the world you had a long weekend too!  It was Family Day yesterday here in Alberta so my husband had an extra day off work.  YAY!  We spent the majority of the weekend doing some house cleaning and organizing.  I did tell him my friend Jackie is to blame.  She told me that she has been organizing her craft room, and of course I thought 'Good Idea'....yeah right.  If we have to make one more trip to Ikea I think I'm in for a divorce. ;)

Anyways, you're here for some creative inspiration!  Today's card is a super quick one that came together really fast.  The most time consuming part was colouring the clouds.  I used Pool Party Ink and my Blender Pen to get this shaded effect.  Since it's on Whisper White cardstock, just be sure you don't do too much blending or your cardstock will pill.

The ultra cute elements of this card are of course in the pennant banner.  I punched out some scraps from my Sweet Shop DSP and then some little embellishment bits from some co-ordinating cardstock.

Stamps: Thank You Kindly, Send Me Soaring
Ink: Basic Black, Pool Party
Paper: Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Sweet Shop DSP
Punches: Pennant Builder, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Heart to Heart
Embellishments: Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine, Basic Jewels
Other: Blender Pen, Crop-a-dile
 All supplies from Stampin' Up!

I hope you have a great day!  I'll still be organizing...

The Best Kind of Mail

 * There is one space remaining for the Be A Big Shot Class, Round 2 this Saturday, Feb 25th @ 7pm.  Please contact me ASAP if you'd like to attend, the registration deadline is today!*

I got mail!  Good mail!  The kind that doesn't have a 'due by' date on it!  Hahaha!  My friend, cousin, and downline team member Niki sent me this card to congratulate me on winning the creative contest at Leadership in January.  She is so kind.  She did mention that she cased it from somewhere, so thanks to the original creator for the design, and thank you Niki for taking the time to make me such a beautiful card.

I love the layers of scallops along the bottom and the dangling little hearts with the pearls.  What fabulous touches!

So Grateful

My brother-in-law is in for a super big treat tonight.  Through friends of my Mom, he received 4 complimentary tickets to the Bryan Adams show tonight...in Tokyo!  Needless to say, we are SO grateful to the people who made this possible.  So of course in true Stampin' Up! Demonstrator fashion, I wanted to make them a card.  ;)

I did some layering with my markers to create a painted look on the flowers.
To create this look at home you'll need a selection of makers in the same colour (I used pinks) in a variety of hues.  (You can see the exact colours I used in the supply list below.)  Start with your lightest colour, and colour in the flower.  Work using your lightest to darkest markers, and keep layering the ink colours one on top of one the other, but still leaving the previous colour layers exposed in places.  Throughout the process be sure to use your blender pen to blend the colours together.  It takes some practice, and I'm certainly no expert, but I hope you'll try it.

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Style Beautiful
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Rose Red
Stampin' Write Markers: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi
Big Shot: Labels Framelits, Square Lattice Embossing Folder
Other: Blender Pen

I hope you have a terrific day!  I'm going to be working on some upcoming class samples, so look out for those next week!  Until tomorrow...

Mini File Folio Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope the most important person in your life is making you feel loved.  I'll be spoiling my wonderful husband today with a few of his favourite treats and giving him this Mini File Folio filled with little notes and trinkets to show him just how much he means to me.  I took these pictures before I did all the personalizing to make this a special gift for him, so you'll see this as a blank canvas.

This folio has 6 pockets, perfect to slide a piece of cardstock into.  I used mine to write my hubby some love notes, but you could use them for pictures, movie ticket stubs, or favourite quotes.

I really love the little flags that hang from each pocket with a mini safety pin.  Each one is different, and totally cute!

The finishing touch is this adorable belly band to hold the folio closed.
I sure hope he likes it!  I'm pleased with how it turned out!

The list of supplies to make this little cutie is quite daunting, so I'm going to just list the basics of what you'll need to create a project with the same feel.  No tools, just the consumables.

Paper:  Everyday Enchantment DSP, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Embellishments: Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brads, Vintage Trinkets, Neutrals Buttons, Basic Pearls, Victoria Crochet Trim
All supplies available from Stampin' Up!

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!  Give all those you love a big hug and a kiss and tell them how special they are to you.
